In most places, and in this article's case in Florida, it is legal to videotape or photograph anything in public, including police activity. But police will arrest you for it. They know, or should know, that you aren't breaking the law, but they arrest you anyway. The arrests are usually thrown out, but not after you're booked, held, and have to get a lawyer. Why is this tolerated? Shouldn't the cops who write these tickets face punishment if they're vindictively arresting or detaining people who aren't breaking any law?
