I Know Which Job I'd Keep, And It Isn't The One With A Gavel

The New Jersey Supreme Court has ruled that you can't be a judge and a stand-up comedian/actor at the same time. Not legally, at least. The guy is a part-time municipal judge in Hackensack (cue canned laughter) and also a comic who does warm-ups for Comedy Central shows in New York. The trigger for the ethics complaint was his work acting on a reality show and the "potential content of his sketches." The guy was handling traffic tickets and disorderly persons offenses -- seriously, what could he possibly say or do in his act that would create a conflict with that? (WCBS-TV/New York and AP)
