It's A Disease, Not A Marketing Opportunity

This former Tampa Bay Buccaneers cheerleader is a breast cancer survivor, but she's not impressed by this month's pink blitz -- she's campaigning against "pink washing," when companies display pink ribbons and pink packaging, but don't really do much for breast cancer research. Moreover, she wants the charities to reserve some money to help women pay for reconstruction as well. And, well, YES. The psychological, as well as physical, well being of a woman who's had her breasts removed demands that there be access to reconstruction, but it's expensive. For women who can barely afford the life-saving chemo, surgery, and radiation in the first place, reconstruction can seem out of reach. About time someone is pointing that out.
