So They'll Take A Brief Vacation From Irrationally Hating People. Wonderful

While Vladimir Putin insists that gay athletes and guests won't be persecuted at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, doesn't that raise the question in Russians' minds why, if they can put the anti-gay stuff aside for a few weeks for business purposes, they can't just stop it for good? Doesn't it dawn on them that the anti-gay thing is just stupid and counter-productive, let alone horribly discriminatory? Meanwhile, a gay rights group demonstrated outside Coca-Cola headquarters to ask Coke, a sponsor of the Olympics, to speak out on the issue. Is it a sponsor's job to do that? On the other hand, can the sponsors look away and wash their hands of all responsibility? (AP via CP24; Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
