If You Don't Put Your Foot Down, They'll Work You 24/7/365

A man is suing a hospital where his wife worked as a nurse, saying that she was literally worked to death. She died in a car crash driving home after a 12-hour shift caused by understaffing. He notes that she was routinely called in on her time off because she was one of the few nurses who was qualified to run the dialysis machines. This is a major issue for hospital doctors and nurses, who end up working very long shifts; it can't be good for them, and it can't be good for the patients, either. (CNN)
