You can't, if you adopt a child, decide nine years later that you don't want him because he's too hard to handle and give the kid back to the county. It does not work that way. It's understandable if the adoptive parents feel that they can't deal with an unruly kid anymore, which is apparently the case here, but when you adopt, you're signing up for the long haul. It's permanent. And there's no room for buyer's remorse. In fact, if the kid needs help, this is the time you're needed the most. (Middletown Journal-News)
