How did Black Friday go for retailers? Not so good: $1.7 billion less this year than last, is the estimate. Not a shock, though- even with the early opening, was there anything other than the game consoles that people HAD to have? Don't most people have flat-panel TVs by now? Can't people go online and avoid the crowds? Aren't we still in a sluggish economy? What do they expect? (New York Times)
