Sometimes, You Gotta Make Your Own Loopholes
-
That California State Senator found guilty of living outside his district? That's a felony, so he had the utter cojones to introduce a bill to make nonviolent felony convictions convertible to misdemeanors. He swears it wasn't meant to save his own ass, but even his protectors in the Senate leadership -- who, by the way, refuse to make him resign despite the felony conviction and the fact that it involved his very eligibility to represent his district -- told him to back off this one. Some politicians are even more shameless than you imagine. (Los Angeles Times)
