Although If They Give Out Coupons For Immodium With Each Meal, That's A Sign, Too

Seattle does not, as L.A. and New York and some other cities do, have a restaurant sanitation grading system. She got sick after eating at a restaurant that got rave Yelp reviews and only afterwards discovered that it had a record of really bad sanitation. In L.A., you see a letter grade in every restaurant window, and you know that A's okay, B marginal, and C, D, and -- worst -- a number (they don't do Fs) mean go someplace else. If your city doesn't have health department grades posted in all food places, that's something you really can push to get -- customers SHOULD know if a place is clean or if it has a problem.
