If The End Comes Before Final Exams, Do We Still Get Credit?
-
Central Michigan University is teaching a course on zombies and "The Walking Dead." Okay, that's the sensationalistic approach to reporting it. In reality, they're teaching about apocalyptic themes in biblical texts, literature and pop culture, and that's a perfectly legitimate, and interesting, subject for scholarly interpretation. It's not hard to understand people's interest in that, but what makes fiction about end times become so popular at times? Is it a reaction to real-life events or just to a story that happens to resonate? Could "The Walking Dead" have been popular in, say, the '80s? (Fox News)
