I Want My Vin Scully!

The Dodgers did one of those massive cable deals, and the channel devoted to them debuts Tuesday. But unless you subscribe to Time Warner in L.A. or Bright House in Bakersfield, you won't get it until deals are struck with other carriers. I live in L.A. County, and I can't get the new SportsNet L.A. for any amount of money -- my carrier is Verizon FiOS and they don't have it, the rival is Cox and they don't have it, either, and neither satellite service has it. They'll be blacked out in the MLB.tv package, too. And if they don't do a deal, that means no Dodgers on TV here at all except for national games on Fox. This is the problem with these massive deals: There's a danger that the games won't air in a lot of households (as was the case when Fox signed the Padres and Time Warner, in that case, refused to sign up).
