If They Banned Those Shirts On Grounds Of Taste, Everyone Would Be Fine With It
-
A three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals agreed with a high school that it was appropriate to make kids wearing American flag t-shirts turn them inside-out on Cinco de Mayo so that Latino students wouldn't be offended and get violent. Seriously, that was the reason. The court said it wouldn't interfere in matters of school safety, even if it's an infringement on First Amendment rights. On the other hand, let's face it, the students wearing those t-shirts were trying to provoke. So everyone in this case is a little crazy, and it seems to all have been created for angry talk radio people. Expect an appeal to the full 11-judge court. (AP via ABC News)
