Alex Rieger Would Have Taken Them
-
Remember the Portland cabbie who allegedly booted a lesbian couple out of his cab for being too affectionate (he said they were drunk, but they filed a discrimination complaint)? The state labor bureau decided he'd violated the couple's civil rights. And, well, yeah, cabbies will generally take anyone anywhere, even drunk, with exceptions that always seem to involve discrimination. But I suppose some might contend that he should be able to take or reject any fare he wants. Even if that were true, I fail to see what the trouble would be in picking up a lesbian couple, but cabbies should just take any paying customer where he, she, or they want to go. (KATU-TV/Portland)
