Maybe They Thought It Was The Alarm Clock

Don't you love the increasingly common stories about people who discover a massive beehive in their homes and walls? This one involves a home near Houston in which they found a hive with up to 500,000 bees. 500,000! It's two stories high. They're honey bees, so they're not a danger to the people there, and because honey bees have been endangered, they're removing but not killing the bees. How does a hive in house walls get that huge? Didn't anyone notice the buzzing? Apparently, they did; they removed a huge hive 15 years ago, but it came back. There's something about that house, I guess. (Houston Chronicle)
