Forget Him. Can We Vote For Her?

People change, but maybe not as much as you'd have to change to be like this GOP candidate for the North Carolina State Senate: It's being alleged that about a decade ago, this guy, who is anti-gay marriage, worked as a female impersonator and identified as gay. He denied it at first, then gave a weird, cryptic comment, "I have already apologized to the people who matter most to me for the things I did when I was young." Apologize? For what? And why? He also changed from Democrat to unaffiliated to Republican within a span of 4 years and worked to pass the state's constitutional amendment to reinforce its ban on gay marriage. "I do not condone the things I did when I was young," he says, not saying what those were. Again, people do change, but this comes across more as opportunism than anything else.
