DirecTV says that not carrying the new Time Warner Dodgers channel in L.A. has resulted in "immaterial" losses of subscribers. They're holding firm, refusing to capitulate at a $4 per subscriber -- ALL subscribers -- rate, all year round, for a channel for which most subscribers aren't willing to pay extra. Again, is this the beginning of a revolt against the skyrocketing cable costs that led to insane escalation of profits, salaries, and ticket prices for the major pro sports? (Los Angeles Times)
