No Fun League? More Like No Prescription Necessary League
-
So, forever, it was an open secret that pro and even college teams gave players all sorts of drugs to keep them going. Pain? Have a handful of whatever pills you want. Here's a shot, too. Feeling sluggish? There's a gallon jug of greenies in the trainer's room. It's the way it always was. Now, a group of retired NFL players -- including Super Bowl Shufflers Richard Dent, Jim McMahon, and Keith Van Horne -- is suing the league for pumping them full of painkillers, leading to addiction. Now, if the teams were really pushing players back out on the field pumped up with anti-inflammatories and painkillers, do the players share responsibility because they didn't say no, or were they just pawns in the game? This should be interesting. (CBS News and AP)
