Giver Her A Stepladder, A Forklift, And The Job
-
A woman says she was passed over for a job because of her height. She says that the employer, Pet Supermarket, initially indicated that she was qualified, but then told her that she didn't get the job because she couldn't lift fifty pounds without help, and lifting fifty pounds is a prerequisite for the position. Then, she said, the company reprimanded the supervisor who told her that, and told her they'd be in touch. And then never called. She's 4'2" and says that her height is the reason they didn't hire her. The Americans with Disabilities Act is a powerful tool, so she's taking them to the EEOC. Read through this one, watch the video, and you be the arbitrator. (WFTV/Orlando)
