Okay, would you rather get a mobile game app for a fee or get it for free and get constantly nagged to buy more levels with in-app purchases? Would you rather pay, say, five bucks upfront, or start for free and have to pay 99 cents at a time to keep going from level to level? The latter freemium model seems to be dominating these days, because they know they can hook you and you'll pay for more (or, at least, your kids will). And now, regulators are sniffing around, looking to see if there's something fraudulent about hooking customers with the idea that it's free and then pushing them to spend money to keep the app working.
