The CDC -- not sure why they're involved, but whatever -- says that 41% of American households are landline-free, relying on cell phones. That's steadily up from 29.7% in 2010. Have you cut that cord? By the way, those without landlines are also more likely to smoke and drink and less likely to have health insurance, so there's that. (Los Angeles Times)
