And For Nationals Games, They Force You In At Gunpoint
-
Wanna get into a Red Sox game at Fenway and don't want to pay a scalper? Here's how: Five hours before a game, you line up and wait. And wait. And wait. And two hours before the game, they open the gate, you rush to the window, and there are a few -- maybe a hundred, maybe a dozen -- random tickets available at face value. A few caveats: The tickets could be anywhere from great to obstructed view, and could cost anything from twelve bucks to hundreds. You can't save spaces in line -- everyone who wants a ticket has to be on line for the whole time. And when you buy the ticket, you have to walk right in; no running off and scalping it. Sounds like a chore, but they don't have to offer ANY tickets, do they? They do it to give a few people a second chance at a ticket and add to the buzz. And, yeah, if I was in Boston and really wanted to get into a game, I'd wait.
