At 100, You Should Just Be Given Anything You Want
-
Awww. This guy, a retired truck driver, turned 100, and for his birthday wish (although it took eight months to accomplish), they let him ride in a tractor trailer cab one last time and have lunch with his granddaughter at a truck stop. He has dementia, and trucking is one of the last things he can hold onto, so this is an especially poignant gift. I can't imagine what one thing I'll want to do at that age, or if I know I don't have much time left; my dad, days before he died and unable to swallow food anymore, asked for a good hamburger, just to experience the taste one more time. I still tear up over that. (WLBZ-TV/Bangor-WCSH-TV/Portland, ME)
