And It's NOT Cheaper To 'Just Get A New One.' They Just Want You To Get A New One
-
This woman's plight is becoming more common: She bought a new oven six years ago, it broke, and she can't seem to get the part to fix it, because the manufacturer quickly obsoleted it. They discontinued the model and stopped making and stocking all the parts. They keep telling her they'll get the part to her, eventually, but it used to be that you'd buy appliances and they'd last 10, 15, 20 years or more. Our gas range is at least 20 years old, probably more. But now, they're made to fail. After all, if they make them well, you won't be buying a new one right away. (KMGH-TV/Denver)
