Six Seconds? You Can Handle That
-
We get pummeled with exercise advice, but this is a new one: Scottish researchers say that elderly people would benefit from six-second bursts of exercise. Six SECONDS. It's the ultimate in interval training, just go all-out for six seconds, then slow down. Push yourself to the limit, then let your heart rate slow to normal, then do it again. That alone reduced blood pressure by 9%, increased oxygen flow to muscles, and made everyday tasks easier. Interesting. (BBC)
