This'll Hurt Me More Than It Hurts You!
-
Russia's reaction to the tightened sanctions against it from the West is a retaliatory food embargo that blocks food imports from the U.S., European Union, and some other countries. It will hurt some produce suppliers, surely, and it will not help the European economy, but it'll hurt Russian consumers more, because not everything that's normally imported from the affected countries can easily be imported from elsewhere. They already banned some other imports, like pork from Poland. But if they want to punish themselves to spite the West, well, that's their prerogative. (BBC)
