A nation decides to institute new rules to stop immigrants from showing up just to take benefits from the country. The U.S.? No, Germany. And that's for people from other European Union member nations there legally. Under the proposal, you get six months' unemployment benefits and that's it, and if you get convicted of benefits fraud, out you go, deported. In Germany, they've had an influx of unemployed people from Romania and Bulgaria, but they have NOT seen an increase in benefits fraud. Yet. They're nervous, hence the new rules. (BBC)
