Nobody Left To Keep Mourning
-
They're holding an auction this weekend, and that will be the last official event for the Philadelphia Athletics Historical Society, an organization devoted to keeping alive the memory of the A's in Philadelphia, which they left after the 1954 season. The "society" has one member left, and he's 80. So they kept it alive for 60 years. I wonder what else in pop culture will be forgotten after a few years... oh, yeah, practically everything. Is there something out there you want people to remember long after the fact - a sports team, a movie or TV show, a defunct store or mall or place? (KYW/Philadelphia)
