You Can't Arrest Me, I'm Ecologically Superior
-
For the second time in six weeks in Somerville, MA, a bicycle rider allegedly ran a red light and then refused to identify herself to the police. That earns them an arrest and handcuffs, but it does highlight how some -- not all, not most, but a few -- cyclists think the law doesn't apply to them. I see that all the time around here in my neighborhood, a biker mecca: Most riders stop for red lights, but some blow right through, cutting in front of traffic, like they don't need to observe the law. And they never get pulled over. Do they do that where you are? (Boston Globe)
