This L.A. Times article uses the idea that the people in affluent Bel Air are preparing for disasters with expensive community preparations like portable toilets, shelters, and generators to decry how they're doing that while people in poor neighborhoods can't. So, they're supposed to leave themselves vulnerable because someone else can't do it? I can't afford all that, either, but I can't blame someone who can. And I'm not asking them to pay for me.
