The Silverado Canyon fire in Orange County -- 1,600 acres -- was started because a homeowner put up metal sheeting to protect a vegetable garden from critters. He never thought that the metal would reflect the sun and set the brush on fire. SHOULD have thought of that, but didn't. People don't think about what they do that can set the region on fire.
