London-based online furniture company Made.com rolled the dice on Scottish independence and... lost. They sent out an email offering a discount in honor of newly independent Scotland that arrived in inboxes hours after the No vote meant that the Union would survive. Why they took that chance is unclear; they claim it was deliberate, whatever that means. And maybe it was, because millions of people who didn't know what Made.com was before this now do. Screw-ups can be beneficial sometimes, too. (Daily Telegraph)
