People are stupid, which explains why those waiting for hours at the New York DMV offices are getting irate with people who they think are jumping the line but who simply made appointments online in advance. Naturally, this is controversial, because, you see, poor and less educated people can't access the Internet, the article maintains. Except that they can and do, on their phones and at public PCs. And it's interesting that in California, we've had online DMV appointments available for four years, with equal poverty and language situations, and there's been zero controversy. Zero. You go to the DMV site, you find your office, you select a time, you're good to go. Why is that a problem, and why are people angry because someone else made a reservation and they didn't?
