That Was Dad's Thing
-
The part of this story that's worth talking about is this: After an airborne minivan ran off a New Jersey road and plowed into a vintage 1950 DeSoto parked nearby, destroying the old car, the owner of the DeSoto said that it was his late father's retirement project but that the family didn't care much about the car and had been trying to sell it for a couple grand. That's kind of sad -- Dad's pet project was his and his alone, and his family doesn't care about it. It's a reminder that once you're gone, so, often, are the things you consider important. Everything ultimately gets forgotten. Now I'm depressed. (Hunterdon County Democrat)
