It Rides A Little Rough And It Doesn't Handles Curves Well, But It'll Do
-
This construction worker has to go about a half-mile just to take a bathroom break or grab a cup of coffee. And then there's his trip from the transfer station to the construction site. How does he get from place to place? He drives his payloader -- a massive piece of construction equipment you might know as a front-loader, the ones with the big shovel thing on the front -- on city streets. He claims that's all he has, and that the department won't let him leave the payloader on-site because it'll get vandalized. And, yeah, that appears to be the city's position, because of budget cuts. Doesn't seem safe for other drivers, but what do I know? (WCBS-TV/New York)
