Maybe If They Stick 'Em In Orange County....

It's official: MLS has folded Chivas USA, the disastrous attempt to create an American soccer franchise targeted exclusively at fans of Mexican descent. The previous reports of the league suspending operations of the club and reviving it in two years are untrue; instead, they're awarding an expansion team to Mandalay Entertainment mogul Peter Guber, Vietnamese-American businessman Henry Nguyen, and the man dubbed by Deadspin as the Worst Owner in Sports, Vincent Tan, who bought the Premier League's Cardiff City and is known for things like changing the team's traditional blue kits to red and putting a dragon in the team logo despite the nickname Bluebirds, looking for players whose birthdates include the number 8, signing a player without telling the actual soccer people running the club about it, and interfering with his coach by sending down "suggestions" about substitutions and tactics from the press box. In other words, Jerry Jones for soccer. This can only end well. Also, should MLS take care of Sacramento, San Antonio, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and other deserving markets before trying again in L.A.?
