You know how Uber charges more -- "surge pricing" -- at some levels of high demand, like when there's a storm? A New York City Councilman wants to ban surge pricing and cap the rates. I don't think that's right -- the market should decide -- but there SHOULD be a rule that Uber DISCLOSE in advance when a ride will cost you $200 instead of $20. If you know in advance, you can always choose to grab the subway or call a real cab. (New York Daily News)
