I Made It On Time, But I Just Didn't Want To Spend Any More Time In School
-
A study by a group that wants to see higher education speed up says that a large percentage of students -- practically all of two-year school students, more than half at four-year institutions -- don't graduate on time, taking longer than four years for a four year degree. And that extra time costs a lot of money, too. But there are things the report doesn't address, like what students do that stretches the time out -- some take time to work, so the extra cost is covered -- or whether there's anything particularly alarming about someone who takes fewer credits than needed to graduate on time because she's doing something else at the same time, like working or raising kids. Is it that much of a problem to take five years or six years to finish your degree? (Inside Higher Ed)
