'King Ralph,' For Reals
-
The news that the remains they found under the parking lot were, based on DNA, really King Richard III has had the secondary effect of pointing out that the DNA doesn't quite jibe with the current monarchy, suggesting that the Queen really shouldn't be the Queen, but that a guy who drives a forklift is the rightful heir to the throne. No, really. See, there's been suspicion that the direct descendent of Richard was a guy named Mike Hastings, who was the 14th Earl of Loudon and who died two years ago. His son, the forklift driver at a fabrics company in Australia, would be the King. But he doesn't want it, he says. He says he's happy as it is. But, man, if you were that close to the big bucks....
