It May Have Been Poop, But It Was HIS Poop
-
This story about a morbidly obese man who wouldn't leave his home and was forcibly removed from his feces-filled, disgusting house is this: When can and should the state move in on someone who's happy the way things are? Yes, clearly, this guy has issues and problems, and might not be making a rational decision, but when does it cross over into barging in and dragging him out of there? If someone wants to wallow in his own poop and just sit at the window for years, is it the state's duty to get him out of there? What if it isn't causing the neighbors particular harm?
