Is Nothing Sacred? Actually, Nothing SHOULD Be Sacred
-
A good analysis of what the Paris Charlie Hebdo massacre means comes from Will Leitch at Bloomberg, who wonders about how we talk about satire and whether we mean it when we say we support it. We SHOULD support it, but some of the same newspapers saying they support satire won't show the offending cartoons. If you say "Je Suis Charlie," you should do so when the satire under fire isn't something that makes you comfortable. Satire, after all, is all about being offensive. That's the point.
