Sing About THIS, Tony Bennett

San Francisco's board of supervisors has earmarked another $203,000 in funding to try to combat the growing problem of human poop on the streets. We've discussed this before: The homeless are taking dumps on sidewalks, in alleys, in BART stations, everywhere, all over the central district (especially in the Tenderloin, which is sketchy and where you might at least not be surprised, but elsewhere, too). It's revolting. And the city's been at a loss regarding how to fix the problem. This program involves trucking in toilet facilities, but some of the problem involves the addicted and mentally ill who'll dump where they want to dump, which is wherever they happen to be when the urge strikes. Not sure what the answer is, but they really should at least have clean, safe, guarded facilities for the public, everywhere. You'd be okay with taking some tax money to ensure there's always a place to go that's secure and clean, wouldn't you? Someone should run for office with that as a platform. (KPIX-TV/San Francisco)
