And Now Some Guys Will Read The Other Pages For The First Time
-
What do you think of when you think of Britain's most famous tabloid, The Sun? First thing? Yes, the topless Page 3 Girls. Of course. But now, after 44 years (I thought it was longer), the paper is dropping the topless pictures because corporate -- Rupert Murdoch -- told them that it's over. And Murdoch himself has called the topless photos "old fashioned." Now, they WILL continue to have models on page 3, and if circulation drops, the bare breasts will likely be back, but the paper is, for now, bowing to societal and corporate pressure. And, really, did those pictures ever belong in a general interest daily newspaper in the first place? (The Guardian)
