A Red Light Is Not A Suggestion
-
Around here in L.A., we have a bunch of light rail and subway lines. And they're naturally equipped with fail-safe systems that are supposed to stop the train when there's a red light. In 2012-2014, trains ran 83 red lights. Two-thirds of them were on the Blue Line, a light rail line from Long Beach to downtown L.A. that has a lot of grade crossings. There were accidents with cars and buses. Running 83 red lights? There aren't supposed to be ANY red light running incidents. Guys, remember, if you come upon a grade crossing in your car, look both ways and don't trust trains to stop. (Los Angeles Times)
