Why Isn't Willie Nelson On This Program, Too?
-
This stockbroker has a unique pot dealer: the federal government. No, really, check this out: Pursuant to a court case years and years ago, about 11 people suffering from rare, painful diseases were told that they could smoke pot to alleviate pain, but the federal government, wanting to avoid legalizing it, created a program by which they and they alone would supply the pot, for free, in freeze-dried joints shipped regularly to the plaintiffs. Today, there are two patients left, and this guy is one of them, smoking several joints a day and carrying a letter from the feds to show cops when they pull him over for hotboxing while driving. And pot works for him: It helps the pain AND he has practically no stoner symptoms, because he's probably built up a tolerance. When politicians rail against legalization, remember how they're supplying the stuff to him and how it seems to be at worst benign. (Los Angeles Times)
