The firing of a popular TV news reporter in Philadelphia appears -- the station isn't talking -- to be because she named the cop who was shot before the police told the cop's family. And, yes, that's not good for the family and may have breached an agreement with the Police Department to wait, but it's not illegal and arguably not even a breach of news ethics -- she reported the truth, confirmed by sources. Even if you think she should have held off (I do -- sometimes, you have to be human first and everything else second), is this a fireable offense? (Philadelphia Daily News)
