If He'd Paid Attention In Geography Class, He Might Have Gotten Away With It

The thing that people will focus on with the Robert Durst arrest -- if you haven't been following it or watching the HBO show "The Jinx," you need to go review all that before talking about it -- is that the TV show triggered the arrest, specifically a) bringing renewed attention to this guy's tangled history, b) letting him dig himself deeper with his own egotistical, weird presence, and c) most critically, drawing attention to a 1999 letter he sent to a woman he's suspected of murdering that has the same writing and misspelling of Beverly Hills as "BEVERLEY" as an anonymous letter alerting police to the dead body a year later. Finally, this guy, an heir who's been suspected of murdering his wife, and was acquitted of murdering another man who he admitted killing, dismembering, and dumping into the water off Galveston (he said it was self-defense), may have tripped himself up, but it may have taken a TV show to make it happen.
