Unclear Point And Not All That Funny. Not The Best Way To Get Attention
-
Somebody's slapping official-looking "Exclusively for White People" stickers on stores in East Austin, with the city seal on it and a statement that the store can have a maximum of 5 black customers (they use a word other than black) and black back-of-house staffers. They don't know if it's serious or a joke, if it's satire or meant to be racist, aimed at the stores for gentrifying traditionally black neighborhoods or really bigoted. I'm betting that it's meant as satirical and anti-gentrification, making fun of the shops, but the fact that it's unclear means that the point, whatever it is, is being missed. (KXAN-TV/Austin)
