The BBC has confirmed that it fired Jeremy Clarkson, and assuming James May and Richard Hammond don't renew their contracts, that pretty much ends "Top Gear," the biggest worldwide moneymaker the BBC has. Oh, sure, they'll keep it going with other hosts, but you know a) it won't be the same and b) the original three will sign with ITV or Sky and do their own version with another name and tweaked format and make a fortune. Meanwhile, the topic continues to be whether bad behavior can be tolerated when it's a big star doing it, or, as in this case, you gotta cut him loose. (BBC)
