A Little Ice And Snow Never Hurt Anyb... Okay, Sometimes It Hurts
-
Air Canada, in the wake of the plane skidding off the runway in Halifax, insists that conditions were safe to land. There was a snowstorm going on at the time. Look, I know that some airports are used to snow -- I fly into and out of Minneapolis-St. Paul sometimes and have done so with the snow coming down -- but, clearly, when it's accumulating, it's a problem. Hasn't someone invented pavement heaters by now? It's also unfortunate that the passengers, who popped open the emergency chutes to get out, ended up huddled together for an hour freezing while the officials focused on the plane. Not a good look, Air Canada. (CTV News)
