The One Guy Who COULDN'T Parlay A Viral Video Into Money
-
Remember a few years back in the heat of the Chick-fil-A controversy when a guy, a CFO for some company, made a video in which he berated a Chick-fil-A clerk over the company's stance on gay marriage, and as a result of his treatment of the woman, lost his job? Here it is, almost three years later, he lost another job when they found out he was that guy, and he's now on food stamps, living in an RV with his family, and seemingly unemployable. He would probably like everyone to feel bad for him, but even those who agree with his stance on the underlying issue -- probably a majority of people -- aren't too sympathetic. After all, do you want to hire someone who would make a public spectacle of himself by berating a minimum wage fast food clerk who has nothing to do with what he's orating about? He's written a book about it, because of course he has. This is the thing: He wants everyone to think he's apologized and healed and is not that guy, but he IS that guy. He planned his video, he pulled it off, and he just didn't expect that people, even those who agree with him, would not LIKE him for it. Still, is what he did cause for a life sentence? Should he keep paying, and paying, and paying forever for his misdeed? When's parole? (ABC News)
